Our Story
Inspired by Bruce Lee. Born from a gym. A legacy for a son.
Direct Impact Martial Arts (DIMA) Gear was founded by Carlos Rodriguez, a man who started martial arts training at age 5, loved Bruce Lee techniques and self-improvement philosophies, created four of his own gyms in the Greater Grand Rapids area, and lost his eldest son (1998-2016) to the fentanyl epidemic.
The DIMA MIssion
DIMA GEAR is a brand of motivational martial arts equipment that stands to empower individuals to become masters of themselves; to encourage it’s users to be disciplined, self-taught, and to “honestly express oneself” with it’s positive philosophies that apply to both the ring and life.
DIMA GEAR is here to elevate individuals’ physical and mental health, while it’s purchase directly supports others in their upward flight. 10% of all proceeds go to Community Command Center, a local nonprofit that provides coping skills for those struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation.
